Do Not Open This Book

This book gets your attention right from the title!  How tempting it is to do something you are told not to do.  In this story Pig is trying to write a story, but it is not finished yet.  He gets upset that someone is interrupting his work.  Throughout the story, Pig asks to be left alone while writing his story. He fills the pages with obstacles to prevent the reader from turning the pages.  He then writes a story about the reader.  He is very excited when he fills all the pages of his book.  I have read this book with preschool classes, and the children love to go against the Pig’s wishes.  This story invites the reader to participate throughout the story.
