Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness
Intended Audience – Paraeducators
Description – This is the first in a series of five offerings. We will focus on building trust with children in our charge. We will discuss relationships, positive descriptive feedback, and other tools for success. We will share examples and learn effective and meaningful ways of building these basic models of collaboration within our classrooms. We will include a component of helping families understand development and feel encouraged to participate in the classrooms as well.
Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 1.5 contact hours for the following:
- Educator License Renewal
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 3
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
- Gateways to Opportunity credit in area E (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )
Full participation is required to receive a certificate.

Roseann Slaght
Roseann Slaght has worked as a Family Resource Specialist for STARnet for 23 years. Her goals are to embrace inclusive practices, and find ways to support each child in order to develop their full potential, and include parents as partners in the learning process. She is a parent of two adult men with significant disabilities. In her spare time, she is also a licensed Massage Therapist. Rose earned her degree in Child Development.
