Assistive Technology & Adaptations to Increase Access, Participation, & Supports for All Children (Moodle Course)

Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness

Intended Audience – Administrators, ECSE/General Educators, Paraeducators, Family Members, Family Educators, SLPs, OT/PTs,

Description – In this Moodle course, we will discuss the importance of presuming competency of young children. We will provide an overview of Universal Design for Learning that can be used in your classroom environment to support all children. And we will spend some time looking at assistive technology and adaptations for each interest center that can support all learners in increasing access, participation, and supports to activities and materials.

Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 1.5 contact hours for the following:

  • Educator License Renewal
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 2
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • Gateways to Opportunity credit in area E (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )

Full participation is required to receive a certificate.

  • Bridget Meis
    Bridget Meis, M.S. Ed, is an Early Childhood Resource Specialist for STARnet Regions I & III. During her time with STARnet, she has presented on a variety of topics including: Apps and Assistive Technology, Social/Emotional development, Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Portfolios, Lesson Planning, Mathematics in Early Childhood, Science and Mathematics, STEAM and Family Engagement. Bridget has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2003. She received her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University and her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute. Bridget has worked in a variety of early childhood programs with diverse groups of children from as young as six weeks old to children in fifth grade. Bridget has served children and families in private childcare programs and most recently with Head Start.
