Universal Design for Learning: Setting up the Environment for Success for ALL Children (Moodle Course)

Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness

Intended Audience – Administrators, ECSE/General Educators, Paraeducators, Family Members, Family Educators, Psychologists, Social Workers, SLPs, OT/PTs

Description – In this Moodle course, you will learn what Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is and the difference between UDL and a traditional classroom. You will explore inclusive practical strategies for applying UDL principles in a preschool classroom and how the UDL principles improve access and participation for all children including children with disabilities. During this interactive course you will watch videos, answer questions, play games, and complete a scenario to demonstrate your knowledge of Universal Design for Learning.

Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 1 contact hours for the following:

  • Educator License Renewal
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 2
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • Gateways to Opportunity credit in area E (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )

    Cecilia Mintz, B.S. Ed, is an Early Childhood Resource Specialist for STARnet Regions I & III. She has worked in Early Childhood since 2007. Cecilia has worked with a diverse population at Head Start. While working with Head Start she guided children with Project Approach. Cecilia worked at engaging families in their child’s education by encouraging their input on family goals involving their child. She collaborated with local education agencies on IEPs.
