Book Study: Big Questions for Young Minds: Extending Children’s Thinking (three-part webinar)

Intended Audience: Administrators, ECSE and General Educators, Teacher Assistants , Family Members, Family Educators, SLP’s

Join us for a Book Study on Big Questions for Young Minds: Extending Children’s Thinking by Janis Strasser and Lisa Mufson Bresson. This book focuses on using higher-level questioning techniques based on a modified version of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Throughout the book study, we will discuss and reflect on expanding children’s thinking by asking questions in each interest area, throughout daily routines and during other learning opportunities in the classroom. We will also consider how to support families to use high-level questions with their children at home. Each registrant will be sent a complementary copy of the book and is expected to read the assigned chapters prior to each webinar in order to actively participate in reflection and analysis. If a registrant needs to cancel the training, the book will need to be returned to Starnet, so please register only if you feel confident that you can commit the time to reading the book and participating in the webinars. Those who complete the training may keep the book. Space is limited and the Book Study trainings fill up quickly, so please register early!

Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 7.5 contact hours for the following:
