Book Study: Permission to Feel: Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help Our Kids, Ourselves and Our Society Thrive (four-part webinar)

Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness

Intended Audience:  Administrators, ECSE Educators, General Educators, Teacher Assistants, Family Members, Family Educators, Psychologists, Social Workers, SLPs, OTs, and PTs

In this book study, participants will read and learn about the RULER method in the book Permission to Feel by Marc Bracket, Ph.D. Additionally, as part of the book study, reflection, and conversations, participants will also be able to relate this knowledge to the Pyramid Model implemented in early childhood classrooms.

Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 8.0 contact hours for the following:

  • Educator License Renewal
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 3
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • Gateways to Opportunity credit in area E (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )

Full participation is required to receive a certificate.


  • Anni Reinking
    Anni K. Reinking, Ed.D. is a Family Resource Specialist at STAR NET Regions I & III. She also sits on her local school board, Peoria School District 150. Prior to her current role, she was a full-time early childhood professor and early childhood classroom teacher. She specializes in early childhood education, family advocacy, and multicultural education. Additionally, Dr. Reinking has published and presented research in the areas of multicultural education, challenging behaviors, trauma informed practices, and creating positive school cultures, and more.
  • Cecilia Mintz
    Cecilia Mintz, B.S. Ed, is an Early Childhood Resource Specialist for STARnet Regions I & III. She has worked in Early Childhood since 2007. Cecilia has worked with a diverse population at Head Start. While working with Head Start she guided children with Project Approach. Cecilia worked at engaging families in their child’s education by encouraging their input on family goals involving their child. She collaborated with local education agencies on IEPs.
