Supporting Each and Every Child: High-Quality Preschool Practices (webinar)

Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness

Intended Audience – ECSE and General Educators, Paraeducators

Description – In this introductory webinar, we will introduce the Building Blocks Framework for Teaching Preschoolers with Special Needs and the Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) core considerations as a guide to support each and every child in inclusive environments. This interactive session will explore high-quality preschool practices and provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on existing practices.

Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 1.25 contact hours for the following:

  • Educator License Renewal
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 2
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • Gateways to Opportunity credit in area D (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )

Full participation is required to receive a certificate.

Presenter(s)

  • Emily Reilly
    Emily Reilly, Early Childhood Resource Specialist with STARnet Regions I and III is a proven leader with 14 years of experience in early care and education. Emily has served in a variety of leadership roles in the field including master teacher, associate director, college instructor, trainer and IL AEYC board member. Emily presents on a variety of topics including anti-bias curriculum, project approach, inclusive practices, reflective practice, and portfolios. She is passionate about supporting adult learners in improving their practice, specifically when it comes to making sure all children and families feel a sense of belonging and community. In her spare time, she enjoys running, yoga, trying new foods, and hanging out with her family.
  • Talin Tokat
    Talin Tokat is an Inclusion Specialist for Early CHOICES, an Inclusion initiative of the Illinois State Board of Education. Talin has a master’s degree from Erikson Institute in Child Development with a specialization in Children’s Law & Policy. She has worked as an early childhood educator, program director, and therapist, always with a focus on increasing inclusive and equitable opportunities for all children. Her own personal mission aligns with that of Early CHOICES, which promotes increasing high quality inclusive early care and education for each and every child birth to age 5.
