High-Quality Inclusive Practices (webinar)

Learning Level 2: Intermediate/Application

Intended Audience – Administrators, ECSE and General Educators, Teacher Assistants, Psychologists, Social Workers, SLP’s, OT/PT’s

Description – Join us to explore research-based inclusive practices to support the learning needs of all young children with disabilities. This webinar will share resources, strategies, and real-life examples of practices implemented in classrooms just like yours! In addition to reviewing the practices, we will provide opportunities to engage with other attendees to share ideas, reflect, and plan for using some new strategies today.

Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 1.5 contact hours for the following:

  • Educator License Renewal
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 2
  • CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
  • Gateways to Opportunity credit in area D (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )

Full participation is required to receive a certificate.

Presenter(s)

  • Emily Ropars
    Emily Ropars has worked in the field of early childhood education for 20 years. She worked as a developmental therapist and holds a type 04 with a special education endorsement. Emily’s career has spanned all early childhood settings: a Reggio Emilio inspired university lab early learning center, home visiting as a developmental therapist, early childhood special education teacher in rural Oregon, and Child Development Specialist for Head Start serving DuPage County. Emily started an inclusion program at a private school in Chicago, that is still operating and used as a model for the Archdiocese of Chicago’s inclusion initiatives. She currently is an LRE Specialist for Early Choices.
  • Talin Tokat
    Talin Tokat is an Inclusion Specialist for Early CHOICES, an Inclusion initiative of the Illinois State Board of Education. Talin has a master’s degree from Erikson Institute in Child Development with a specialization in Children’s Law & Policy. She has worked as an early childhood educator, program director, and therapist, always with a focus on increasing inclusive and equitable opportunities for all children. Her own personal mission aligns with that of Early CHOICES, which promotes increasing high quality inclusive early care and education for each and every child birth to age 5.
