Book Study: Each and Every Child: Teaching Preschool with an Equity Lens (webinars)
Learning Level 2: Intermediate/Application
Intended Audience – Administrators, ECSE and General Educators, Teacher Assistants
Description – We will be exploring what it means to teach preschool with an equity lens as we read Each & Every Child by Susan Friedman & Alissa Mwenelupembe. Each participant will receive a copy of the book and during each webinar, we will discuss and reflect on the assigned readings. Participants will engage in self-assessment to generate an action plan.
Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 9 contact hours for the following:
- Educator License Renewal
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 3
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
- Gateways to Opportunity credit in area E (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )
Full participation is required to receive a certificate.

Emily Reilly
Emily Reilly, Early Childhood Resource Specialist with STARnet Regions I and III is a proven leader with 14 years of experience in early care and education. Emily has served in a variety of leadership roles in the field including master teacher, associate director, college instructor, trainer and IL AEYC board member. Emily presents on a variety of topics including anti-bias curriculum, project approach, inclusive practices, reflective practice, and portfolios. She is passionate about supporting adult learners in improving their practice, specifically when it comes to making sure all children and families feel a sense of belonging and community. In her spare time, she enjoys running, yoga, trying new foods, and hanging out with her family. -
Anni Reinking
Anni K. Reinking, Ed.D. is a Family Resource Specialist at STAR NET Regions I & III. She also sits on her local school board, Peoria School District 150. Prior to her current role, she was a full-time early childhood professor and early childhood classroom teacher. She specializes in early childhood education, family advocacy, and multicultural education. Additionally, Dr. Reinking has published and presented research in the areas of multicultural education, challenging behaviors, trauma informed practices, and creating positive school cultures, and more.
