Transition from Early Intervention to Early Childhood Services: Roles and Responsibilities (Webinar and Assignment)
Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness
This training will include a one-hour break at 11am for lunch. It also includes a one-hour post-webinar assignment that must be completed to be eligible for a certificate.
Intended Audience: Administrators, ECSE and General Educators, Teacher Assistants, Family Members, Family Educators, Psychologists, Social Workers, SLP’s, OT/PT’s, Early Intervention Personnel
The Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Human Services developed this standardized training to address the requirements of the federal law—Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA)—to ensure a smooth and effective transition process is in place for children and their families who will be transitioning from Early Intervention to Early Childhood Special Education services. This training will cover requirements regarding timeline, role responsibilities, transition process meetings, state forms, as well as vital partnerships, collaborative relationships, and positive strategies.
Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 5 contact hours for the following:
- Educator License Renewal
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 6
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
- Gateways to Opportunity credit in area C (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )
Full participation is required to receive a certificate.
