Transition from Early Intervention to Early Childhood Services: Roles and Responsibilities (webinar + assignment)
Learning Level 1: Introductory/Awareness
This training will have a one hour break at 11:30am for lunch. The times have changed to 9am-2:30pm, increasing the contact hours from 5.0 to 5.5.
Intended Audience – Administrators, ECSE and General Educators, Teacher Assistants, Family Members, Family Educators, Psychologists, Social Workers, SLP’s, OT/PT’s, Early Intervention
Description – The Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Human Services developed this standardized training to address the requirements of the federal law, Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) to ensure a smooth and effective transition process is in place for children and their families who will be transitioning from Early Intervention into Early Childhood Special Education. This training will cover requirements regarding timeline, role responsibilities, transition process meetings, state forms, as well as vital partnerships, collaborative relationships and positive strategies. Please note: This training will also include one hour of homework. Participants will be required to view the Inclusion Module and complete a reflection form. Submission of the reflection form will be due within one week of the webinar.
Continuing Education – This webinar will provide 5.5 contact hours for the following:
- Educator License Renewal
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credit in area(s) 6
- CE credit for SLP, SW, LCPC, PT, and OT professionals
- Gateways to Opportunity credit in area C (Org. ID# B40093, Event ID# )
- EI Credit in the area of Working with Families
Full participation is required to receive a certificate.
